Any capacitated civil and legal person can become the member of Latvian Tax Payers’ Rights Asociation (NMTA) by submitting a written application.
The decision about the admission is made by the board of NMTA, which consider the application during the first board meeting after receiving the application, but no longer than two weeks after the submission of all necessary forms and documents.
The member candidate is invited to give opinion during the board meeting, at which the admission decision shall be made. The absence of the candidate at the board meeting is not regarded as an obstacle to make the admission decision. The decision made by the board is documented in a written document and issued in one week after the admission decision is made.
The decision of rejection can be appealed against in a written document submitted to the Members Assembly. If the application is rejected also at the Members Assembly, then the applicant can reapply only after a year.

The filled out form you can submit personally at the NMTA legal address, send via regular mail or e-mail, if the application is signed with a safe electronic signature (see the section ‘’Contacts’’).
Joining and membership fees
According to the articles of NMTA, the members of association pay one time registration fee and a quarterly membership fee. The amounts and deadlines of these contributions are determined by the board and approved by the Members Assembly.
The board of the association is allowed to make a decision on full or partial waiving of the registration and membership fees on the basis of candidate’s special efforts and contribution to the administration of the association or attainment of the goals.
In compliance with the board of the association decision made in the 28/05/2008 (approved by the Members Assembly in 17/06/2008 protocol No. 1) the quarterly membership fee is 15 EUR (to be paid until the 15th day of every quarter) and the registration is free of charge.
Retirement and withdrawal procedure
A member can retire from the association at any time by submitting a written notification.
A member can be expelled from the NMTA with a board decision, if:
- the member has not paid the membership fees for more than six months;
- the member does not accord its actions to the decisions made by the board or the Members Assembly;
- the member does not fulfill its obligations and responsibilities;
- the member commit an action that goes against the ones that are declared in the articles of NMTA, or commits actions, which cannot be associated with the goals of NMTA or breaks the ethical norms of society..
